A verruca/plantar wart is caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). The virus is believed to be transported via water molecules and transmitted to the foot through tiny breaks in the skin and so are commonly picked up in communal areas e.g. swimming pools, changing areas, hotels.
Most notably distinguished with its cauliflower appearance, raised area with numerous black dots occurring singularly or in clusters. The treatment involves a combination of cryotherapy and salicyclic acid which offers effective treatment outcomes.
